Ettore Donini born in Corticelle Pieve (Brescia) 10 June 1917. Post- impressionist painter, he painted Landscapes, Flowers, Still Life and Portraits. He was also Decorator and Restorer. In the first 30s Donini observed a Restorer in the Church of Corticelle; he was fascinated from the combination of the activity and the restoration. He appreciated the work and he decided that this would be his job. His Uncle sent him in a decoration Firm, but this was not what he wanted to do.
At about 15 years old fortunately he collaborated with the Traninis, that in that moment was making a restoration of a mural in the Church of Saint Agata. He stayed with them about five years.
After that period, born the real Donini Painter, with his interpretation of nature. In his participation with famous Painters like Canevari, Dolci and Agriconi, his works were very appreciated. Because of the Departure of his brothers, for the war period, he helped his father at the mill.
At the end of the war he was 30 years old and attracted from Paris. He moved in France, where after some works, he started to work on easel Painting in a Workshop. He carried on restoration of Embassies and some Loira's Castle. His Stay lasted 30 years.
In 1977 he came back in Brescia and he carried on his Painter career without to neglect the restoration in the Churches of the Hospitals of Gussago, Urago D'Oglio, Calcinato and in Exclusives Palaces in town: in Brescia in 1979 and in Artogne in 1980.
In the 80s- "the happy years" as Donini define it many times in the back of his canvases- he devoted himself to easel Painting without to forget the old love for restoration. For this love he decided to bring back to its glory Villa Badia Piccola, nineteenth century mansion near Brescia.
In recent years he continues to paint with a surprising diligence, sign of an alive passion.
"Painting is the only reason of the life that allows me to go ahead"
He died in Brescia 25 January 2010.
Luciano Spiazzi said about him: "Ettore Donini is far from the painting of Brescia, he comes from the time of Giuseppe Trainini, uncle of Vittorio. The decoration is known, is a strict school that requires a slow assimilation necessary for the job. Then there's also the benefits, the clear and without dawdle color, bright light, nimble- fingered in cross- hatching. From this job comes a good slice of the art of Brescia". His works are appreciate by collectors for their communication and ninety he continues to paint.
